Many children in the Sangrial community were either not going to school or walking long distances to get to school. More than One hundred children attend this school, and up until recently have been utilizing the in-completed school building.
Star School Sangrial was built for the Afghan refugees residing in E-13, Islamabad. Girls desire to obtain education is strong in the community, but the infrastructure needs to be built properly so they can continue their education. Star School recognizes the importance of education and assistance to help these innocent souls achieve something the world deems impossible. Star Schools offer a promise! The promise of a better-quality lifestyle and a brighter future for all.
PAGE has recently established two new classrooms in Sangrial one of which is still roofless, due to a lack of funds. There is also a need for a playground for children to play during recess. Additionally, there are no toilets for children and no boundary wall. The cold weather makes it uncomfortable and impossible for children to sit in class during the winter. Many children get sick and do not come to school. Moreover, there is also a need for solar panels, a main door, sports kits, a water cooler, and a water tank.
The total cost of running 2 classrooms is £4,000 which covers teachers salaries and school stationery for 30 students. Currently, PAGE is running two classrooms with two teachers with more than 100 students. To meet the current need, PAGE will hire one more teacher, build the roof, boundary wall, playground and toilets for children, install solar panels, build a main door, and purchase sports kits, a water cooler, and a water tank to facilitate the local community with a better environment for their children, especially girls. The total cost for running 2 classrooms with improved infrastructure is £15,000.
