Story
In 1991, Sally Bishop wanted to raise money to purchase a powered wheelchair for a disabled little boy who couldnt get the equipment he needed from the NHS.
After making calls from her front room she soon had enough donations to buy this much-needed chair. Over the next few months more families began to contact her for help and in 1992 Action For Kids was formed.
Over the years the charity expanded to include a maintenance programme for the equipment provided, as well as a wide programme of employment support training and job coaching.
Sally retired in 2012 and received a highly deserved OBE later that year but the charity continues her legacy of enabling disabled children and young people to live the life they choose.
