Alive and Kicking December Dip

Organised by Alive and Kicking

During the month of December we're challenging supporters to take a dip in an outdoor body of water as a way to raise money for our mental health programme and to boost their own mental health, too.

Alive and Kicking is a not for profit ball manufacturer. Through the production of sports balls we create employment for adults from vulnerable job groups. We then use profits from ball sales, additional fundraising and partnership development to deliver sport and health education programmes.

Story

During the month of December we're challenging supporters to take a dip in an outdoor body of water as a way to raise money for our mental health programme and to boost their own mental health, too.

The covid-19 pandemic has had a detrimental affect on most aspects of our lives, and during the winter months it will potentially present a new set of challenges as we struggle to escape our houses. So, AK wants to challenge you to brave the cold, get some fresh air, seek some low winter sun and take a dip!

Extensive research has shown that taking a dip in cold water has many benefits including; improving your immune system, improving your circulation and heart, improving your general mental health, as well as tackling depression and anxiety.

Can you take a dip to provide 5,000 children and young people with mental health education in some of sub-Saharan Africa's most vulnerable communities?

We encourage participants to raise a minimum of £50 by sharing our take a dip JustGiving page.

We also ask participants to challenge friends, family and colleagues to take a dip too!
