Story
While Alex and James are seasoned runners, this will be James’s first marathon attempt (having previously said he could never do one). Alex took to the roads of North Lincolnshire to run an almost completely solo marathon during the LRSN Mad May Marathon campaign, but has never participated in an organised mass running event of this distance. Since then, Alex and James have kept up the running and now feel ready to face the chilly streets of New York for the Marathon in November.
Alex, a farmer from North Lincolnshire and trustee of LRSN, and James, a child care solicitor and great supporter of LRSN, have decided to run the marathon in aid of LRSN, an agricultural and horticultural support charity in Lincolnshire. LRSN's mission is that no one in Lincolnshire's agricultural and horticultural communities and allied industries should have to face difficulty alone. The charity supports those in need through a helpline and team of caseworkers, and promotes health and wellbeing by providing health screening and initiatives such as Future Farmers, Women in Wellies and Welly Wednesday.
Supporting Alex and James will help to support those people in need who are living and working within agriculture and horticulture in Lincolnshire.
