Alex has volunteered at LTR for 6 years. Alex was initially very reserved and he struggled with many issues especially his speech. His colleagues at LTR have given him the time and space to develop his confidence to speak and skills in the kitchen. His speech has improved and many now know that he is funny, has a good sense of humour and is very loyal to the Tea Room.

When he got his disability place for the London Marathon his first thought was “I will run for the Tea Room!”

He so enjoys his volunteering at Liberty Tea rooms and knowing that their work has helped him so much and many others in the Community. Liberty Tearoom works to impact the wellbeing of all, they specifically focus on the social, personal, financial and spiritual wellbeing of those they encounter.

Alex has run 7 marathons already but The London Marathon will be very, very busy and challenging for him because of the crowds and vast number of competitors so he will have a guide runner with him.

He has decided that he wants to achieve a sub 4 hour time and hoping to retain his ranking as 4th in the Country as a T20 registered athlete.
