When Alivia was just five days old, our world changed forever. She became critically ill and began the fight of her life. What followed was 16 months in hospital, countless procedures, and 37 days on ECMO, one of the highest levels of life support available. There were quite a few moments when we didn't know what the future would hold, but Alivia showed us a strength that was far greater than her tiny body.

Today, Alivia lives with severe Level 5 cerebral palsy, a tracheostomy, and requires 24/7 awake supervision, oxygen and ventilator support. Every day brings challenges that most families could never imagine, but every day Alivia continues to inspire us with her courage, determination and beautiful smile.

While Alivia has already overcome so much, her journey is far from over. As she grows, so do her needs. The reality is that Alivia will require lifelong support including specialist equipment and therapies to help her reach her fullest potential and experience the best quality of life possible. As a family, we have always organised small fundraisers and have been deeply grateful for the support shown throughout Alivia's journey. However, as she grows, it has become clear that her needs will be lifelong.

This campaign has been created to build longer-term medical funding for Alivia's future. Funds raised at first will help provide access to therapies and specialist equipment. A second campaign may follow for a home adaptation that supports her health, comfort, development, independence and wellbeing throughout her life.
