All Mothers Matter: Help Keep Qalimow & Gololey Health Centres Open
No mother should have to give birth alone. No child should die because they cannot reach a doctor. Yet in rural Somalia, this is the harsh reality many families face.
For years, the health centres in Qalimow and Gololey have been a lifeline. Here, mothers receive care during pregnancy, babies are born safely with the support of midwives, and children get the vaccinations that protect them from deadly diseases. Malnourished children, weak and struggling to survive, are treated and given a chance to live.
But now, these centres are at risk of closing. Cuts in international aid mean that unless we raise urgent funds, the doors will shut leaving thousands of mothers and children with nowhere to turn. Imagine being in labour with no help, or holding your sick child with no doctor to call. That is what families here will face if these centres disappear.
Your support can change this.
£7 gives a patient vital medicine.
£13 provides essential maternity care for an expectant mother.
£20 ensures a safer birth with a trained midwife.
£70 treats and vaccinates five severely malnourished children.
Mothers like Shukri, who delivered her baby safely at Qalimow, now live in fear of losing this sanctuary. Without these centres, countless mothers will be forced to give birth in dangerous conditions, and children will go without the basic care that keeps them alive.
We are urgently appealing to raise £25,000 to keep Qalimow and Gololey open. Every single donation, no matter the size, means a mother is not left alone, a child is not left untreated, and a family does not lose hope.
Donations to All Mothers Matter are matched pound for pound by the Lady Fatemah Trust up to a total of £25,000 on eligible public donations received between now and 31 December 2025 (while funds last). Gift Aid is not matched.
Please, give what you can today. Together, we can save lives and ensure that all mothers, and all children, matter.
