Help Us Create a Calmer, Kinder Ambulatory Care Space for Women
Liverpool Women’s Hospital is proud to be opening a brand-new Ambulatory Care Unit – a modern space designed to provide quicker, more comfortable treatment for women undergoing minor procedures. But we need your help to take it one step further.
We’re raising funds for the little extras that make a big difference – things like TVs, virtual reality headsets, artwork, and fidget toys – all designed to reduce anxiety, distract from discomfort, and improve the experience for patients before, during, and after treatment.
We'd like to give a huge shout out to our GOPD Staff who took part in our Sky Dive this year and kick started the fundraising for this appeal with an incredible £4,150.00!!
Thank you for all of your fundraising efforts!
Why this matters
Ambulatory care means patients can have less invasive procedures without a general anaesthetic, and return home the same day to recover with the support of family and friends.
It’s quicker, safer, and often means fewer surgical scars – but the procedures can still be daunting. The new unit will already be a huge leap forward, offering:
• Reduced waiting times
• Faster treatment and recovery
• More services on-site, meaning fewer transfers to other hospitals
• Access to specialist clinicians in one building
Now, we want to go even further – making the space as welcoming, calming, and comforting as possible.
What your donation could help provide:
• 🎨 Artwork to make clinical areas feel warmer and more soothing
• 📺 TVs in waiting areas to ease anxiety and reduce the sense of time
• 🧠 VR headsets to offer immersive distraction during procedures
• 🧸 Fidget toys and comfort items to help reduce stress and support patients with sensory needs.
These additions may seem small – but for women going through difficult or unfamiliar treatments, they can mean the world.
The difference you’ll make
By donating today you’re helping us create a space where every woman feels seen, cared for, and supported.
This appeal is part of the wider Crown Street Enhancements Programme, which includes vital investment into women’s health at Liverpool Women’s – one of only two specialist women’s hospitals in the UK.
Together, we can give women comfort, calm, and dignity at every stage of their treatment.
