Amelija is 10 years old from Leicester with a very complex medical history.

All started from 22 weeks of pregnancy when we started to receive worrying messages. She quickly developed a cystic kidney which was removed on second day of her life. We then spent 7 weeks in intensive care unit. We then received more worrying news later because it was find out that Amelija has a hearing impairment, mostly not hearing high pitch sounds. On top off that it she suffers with problems with her hips on the left side.

3 years ago she had full left side hip reconstruction which left her with a 2 cm shorter leg. Further problems are now apparent as she has a suspected brain injury.

Now we are facing another challenge as parents. We want all the best for her and make her independent as much as possible. So, we are doing what we can. We recently visited London Orthotic Consultancy where we hope Amelija can soon wear special splints and shoes. Our next plan for Amelija is for her to attend Able2B where physio will help her with her walking and gait.
