Hi, I’m Angus Leckonby, and you may have seen me recently at the TCS London Marathon, where I proudly broke two Guinness World Records in the intellectual impairment categories.
Living with autism, verbal dyspraxia, and an intellectual disability hasn’t held me back — in fact, it’s fuelled my determination to achieve great things through sport.
After completing the marathon in 3:36:38, I’m now preparing to return to London in September to take on the two-mile Swim Serpentine event in Hyde Park. In the meantime, I’m also competing in multiple triathlons and endurance events across the country.
My big goal? To become the first person with an intellectual disability to complete all three London Classics — which I hope to achieve when RideLondon returns.
I’m taking on these challenges to raise funds for a charity very close to my heart — and where my sporting journey began — Special Olympics Great Britain.
This incredible charity transforms lives for people with intellectual disabilities by providing access to life-changing opportunities through sport.
Training and competing has changed my life: it’s helped me build confidence, make friends, and discover my potential.
With your support, we can help many more athletes like me do the same.
Thank you for joining me on this journey — and for supporting such an important cause.
