The Animal Park at the Conservators Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit zoological park located in Burlington, North Carolina. Situated on a beautiful rural 40 acres and just 20 minutes north of the downtown bustlings found in Burlington, the Animal Park truly is a world to explore, right next door! for most of western North Carolina and southern Virginia. However, our reach doesn't stop there! By keeping an up to date website , as well as our social media pages (Instagram , Facebook , and Twitter ) followers and supporters from all over the globe can become a part of our organization and make a difference in the lives of our animal residents!

Speaking of our residents, we are home to over 70 animals comprised of over 20 species. From jungle cats and lemurs to leopards and tigers, the Animal Park is sure to be home to an animal that you will fall in love with! The Animal Park at the Conservator's Center's mission is: educating people, caring for animals, and advocating for species.

We fulfill our mission in a variety of ways, from providing educational public tours, to field trips that meet the North Carolina science goals and standards for grades K-12. The Animal Husbandry department also runs a top of the line internship program for young scholars looking to learn all about caring for animals, both young and geriatric, by learning their specific diets, maintaining habitats, learning about various forms of animal enrichment, and a multitude of other topics around animal science. Through all of this we advocate for species, including those we care for here at the Animal Park, such as tigers, New Guinea Singing Dogs, leopards, lions, and more. The three facets of our mission continually forge together to create who we are, the Animal Park at the Conservators Center.

Due to the pandemic outbreak of the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, weve had to suspend all of our tours and public events. These tours and events are a vital lifeline for our organization, as those funds help us maintain our Park to the highest qualities and standards that we hold ourselves to.

An anonymous donor generously reached out at a time where we were at a crossroads. Their idea? A fun matching contribution campaign for up to $30,000. Of course we jumped at the idea, knowing that our supporters and wider community would help us meet this goal, especially if we could provide some fun personalized thank yous to make every donation even more special.

For donations between $5-$99 dollars, we will send out a weekly Thank You OOFing & HOWLing video and give our own chuffs of thanks from the staff here at the Animal Park. (OOFing is an amazing vocal communication that lions use to communicate to each other)

Donations between $100-$200, donors will receive a personalized 30-60 second clip of one of our animals enjoying a scent enrichment banner or box thanking YOU personally for your donation (or with a message of your choice, say if you want to send a Happy Birthday to a loved one!).

For donations of $300, donors will be able to Skype or Zoom call with an animal species of their choice for 15 minutes. What a fun way brighten up your work from home day or those weekly zoom meetings. A banner with a positive message or company name is included.

Donations of $500, donors will receive a 30 minute virtual tour video led by one of our Keepers or Tour Guides of either the large or small side of our Park (your choice!). You will meet our residents, learn about their species and their own personal stories. We'll send you information prior to recording so you can send in your questions or species you'd like to learn more about!

Donations of $1,000, donors will receive a 60 minute virtual tour video led by one of our Keepers or Tour Guides of our entire park. You will meet our residents, learn about their species and their own personal stories. We'll send you information prior to recording so you can send in your questions or species you'd like to learn more about!

In order to receive the donation incentives, your donation must provide your name and e-mail address. If you prefer to make an anonymous donation through JustGiving but would like to receive your perk, you must e-mail communications@animalparkNC.org with verification of donation.

Each week there will be a posted Oofing/Howling Video thanking the donors during that 7 day period. Videos will be uploaded here and on our social media pages.

All other videos will be filmed and sent out within 5-7 business days of confirmation between the Animal Park and the donor. If there are any issues, such as inclement weather, etc, we will be sure to inform the donor of any potential delay.
