Anneke's Garden

Campaign by Port Regis School

We are fundraising to build a beautiful garden in the grounds of the Port Regis Pre-Prep, in memory of parent Anneke Lewis, and to support her two chosen charities, the MS Society and Riding for the Disabled.

Created via charity sign up service.

Story

We are fundraising to build a beautiful garden in the grounds of the Port Regis Pre-Prep, in memory of parent Anneke Lewis. ‘Anneke’s Garden’ will be planted with an array of colourful scented plants, stepping stones and other inspiring features to create a corner of peace and tranquillity for our school community. It will include a beautiful grotto, lined with clay shells made by friends and family attending Anneke’s memorial service.

Anneke and Al Lewis worked on the designs last autumn. Coco and Freddie Lewis will help make a special plaque for the garden, while their classmates will contribute to the shells for the grotto.

The aim is to raise £10,000 from family, friends and members of the Port Regis community. We anticipate that around half of this will cover all the costs of the project, to include labour and materials for the grotto, plants, shells, and groundworks. (The new Pre-Prep playground is an entirely separate project financed by the school.) The other half (and any additional funding) will be donated to two charities close to Anneke’s heart - the MS Society and Riding for the Disabled. Anneke completed an epic sponsored walk for the RDA at school last summer.

We would greatly appreciate your generosity in supporting this important and poignant project. Anneke Lewis was a much-loved mum to Coco and Freddie, wife to Al, and friend to so many in the Port Regis family.
