Story
My name is Andrew Noble, and I work as a coach driver on Mull. I am also a volunteer firefighter.
On 6 September 2026, I will be running 36 miles from Craignure Fire Station to Iona Fire Station while wearing a firefighters tunic and breathing apparatus to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity and the Air Ambulance service.
I am passionate about supporting these causes, as The Fire Fighters Charity provides vital physical, mental, and emotional support to serving and retired firefighters, control staff, and their families. The charity relies entirely on donations and fundraising, as it receives no regular government funding, making public support essential to its work.
Similarly, air ambulance services play a critical role in delivering life-saving emergency care when every second counts. They bring specialist medical teams and advanced treatment directly to patients at the scene of serious accidents or medical emergencies. These services also depend heavily on charitable donations to remain operational and fully equipped.
