What is #AppreciateYou?
#AppreciateYou is our campaign taking place during the whole of November, where wed love you all to take a bit of time for yourself, and to look after the wonderful you! With the pressures of hospital appointments, medical procedures and medication, its all too easy to forget to make time for yourself, and to look after yourself emotionally. #AppreciateYou encourages you to look after you, the artist; you, the baker; you, the musician; and you, the yoga contortionist! Although an Inherited Metabolic Disorder may be a big part of life for you and your family, there are many different yous to nurture. We want to encourage you to appreciate all those other yous, and to take time to look after yourself, to allow you to feel better able to cope with the pressures of everyday life.
How to take part?
1. Order your free #AppreciateYou pack, which includes some exclusive #AppreciateYou merchandise and an #AppreciateYou booklet with lots of handy tips and tricks for taking time out and looking after you! Just fill in the form at the bottom of this page to receive your goodies!
2. Use the handy calendar in your #AppreciateYou booklet to plan your relaxing activities for the month and when youre going to schedule in some time for you each week.
3. Make your #AppreciateYou month inclusive to your friends and family by holding a relaxing #AppreciateYou event. This could be a pamper evening, or an evening listening to music. Consider making it a fundraising event and fundraise for Metabolic Support UK, to allow us to continue supporting patients and families emotionally and practically.
4. Share how youre spending your #AppreciateYou month through photos, tagging us in your social media posts and giving us updates on how youre taking time for you each week.
