Our Story
Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) connects people with the incredible amphibians and reptiles that live across the UK, from frogs and newts to lizards and snakes.
Through our education programmes, we help children move beyond textbooks and screens to experience nature first-hand. We spark curiosity, build understanding, and inspire a lifelong respect for the natural world.
Your donation supports ARC’s educational work, from classroom lessons and school trips to hands-on outdoor activities that bring conservation to life.
Why Your Support Matters
Children are far more likely to care about nature if they’ve experienced it themselves. Yet opportunities to explore ponds, woodlands, and local wildlife are becoming increasingly rare.
ARC’s education initiatives, including our flagship Hop Spots Project, are designed to remove barriers and give children meaningful, memorable encounters with nature.
Your donation could provide:
£300 - Transport for a school class to visit a local nature reserve, allowing children to see wildlife up close
£100 - Pond-dipping equipment so children can safely explore freshwater habitats
£10 - Wildlife journals and sketchbooks to help children record and reflect on their discoveries
Every contribution helps turn curiosity into care and care into action.
We are currently match-funding our Hop Spots project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, meaning your donation could be doubled in impact.
