We are planning to make September a month to remember for the 46 students and young people whom Kenya Thriving have the privilege of supporting through their education.

WHY...

We want to share the powerful stories of vulnerable and marginalised Kenyan children whose lives are being changed through the education they receive with Kenya Thriving’s support.

Our vision is to offer these children / young people more than an education — we want to give them hope, opportunity, and the possibility of a secure future.By raising £5,000, we can continue to offer the chance to stay in school, go on to college, build confidence, and look towards a brighter future.

Together with a group of very loyal donors, we have been supporting many Kenyan children for 18 years. We are now seeing the results of lives being transformed.

Michael's story

Michael, who spent his younger years with his grandmother, came into our care 10 years ago. With our support he graduated from a rural primary school, then spent four years at secondary school. Michael is now at a vocational training college learning a trade as an electrical engineer. His education and qualifications will enable him to earn a living and break the cycle of poverty into which he was born.

How ...

Ken Hart is planning to cycle the full length of the longest canal in England. It stretches from Liverpool to Leeds; a total of 127 miles or 203 kms. He will begin on Saturday 5th September and cover the total distance in three stages.

The funds he raises from this ride will pay school and boarding fees, uniforms, purchase academic requirements, pay for school trips and work experience attachments for the college students.
