ASG is a fantastic gymnastic facility found hidden beneath the arches of a Crossways bridge in Thamesmead.

On 20th December, the day before the Christmas break, water was found in our pit. We are assuming this is ground water from the recent rain fall but we do not know the cause yet.

Coaches and gymnasts worked as a team to start stacking dry pit foam.

The following day a team of coaches worked for 10 hours straight to clear the wet foam from the pit so the process of finding the source of the water and repair can commence.

Now we have the expense of determining where this water originates and repairing the pits and replacing foam. The cost of draining the pit was over £1440.00 and then we need to dispose of damaged foam, repair the pit base and purchase new foam.

Thames Water have been investigating where the water has come from and we are awaiting test results from water samples that they took.

We have received quotes to fix the leak and waterproof the base of the pit which will cost over £3000.00

Gymnova have been to visit the gym and have been very helpful and advised us on the best way to replace the foam and get our pit back up and running again as quickly as possible.

We estimate that the total cost will be over £20,000.00. But will update as details emerge.

We have started this fundraiser to help find a way so that the gym, that is in the heart of the Thamesmead community, so that it can continue to serve its 500 members.

We provide recreational gymnastics sessions, the popular parent and toddler sessions, floor and vault and a foundation four piece women's artistic squads together with full artistic squads. We also have Free gym on a Friday evening.

We also provide holiday camp sessions at a very reasonable cost including the summer holiday, Easter break and half term camps, together with our recent Christmas drop and shop sessions.

If you can donate even the smallest amount towards this repair and replacement of damaged items it would be very much appreciated. Hopefully we can return this facility to its former appearance.
