Every day in Raxaul in Bihar, India, children wake up not to the sound of school bells but to the harsh realities of life on the streets. These children live in poverty and come from very challenging backgrounds - with no access to even the most basic education. These are the children the ASHA Project at The Duncan Hospital is reaching out to.
ASHA means “hope,” and that’s exactly what this school is giving to some of the most vulnerable children in the region
The ASHA School provides:
Basic education for children aged 6–14
A hot meal every day, sometimes the only one they receive
Safe structure, emotional support, and care
A path to inclusion for children with special needs
Without intervention these children face a lifetime of hardship, exclusion, and vulnerability.
With your help, we can raise £9,000 annually to enrol 50 children in the ASHA School.
That’s just £180 per child - to change a life.
Together, we can give them more than food and books. We can give them a future.
