Can you give a child the gift of reading - and help them change their lives?
Action Through Enterprise is setting up Library and Learning Zones in our fantastic Inclusion Centres in Lawra and Nandom, Upper West Ghana - where many children have no access to decent books and schools are starved of resources.
Without good English, it’s impossible for children to progress in education or secure professional jobs, so they remain trapped in a cycle of poverty from which they can't escape.
Our Library and Learning Zones will provide a range of fiction and non-fiction, so that children can nurture a love of reading, learn about the world and improve their literacy. We'll also share books with local schools, along with activity ideas and everything to help engage pupils.
We can't thank Ghana School Aid enough for their kind donation of £2,000 - but we need to double this amount to make the Zones as brilliant as possible.
£5 buys a picture book for a disabled child
£30 buys classroom books for a teenager
£60 buys reference books for a whole class
Anything you can donate will mean so much - and give a child a skill and pastime that could transform their future.
Thank you!
