Story
For more than 70 years, Attingham has run specialised courses for those who are professionally engaged in the study, care and interpretation of historic houses and palaces and their collections and gardens, whether they work in the museum, university, historic house or conservation sector.
Attingham promotes an equal, inclusive, open and intellectually stimulating environment in which everyone can benefit from shared experiences and enjoy common interests. A major benefit of the courses is the ability to learn and debate with international colleagues from diverse and varied backgrounds, thus building an understanding of other cultures and approaches.
We hope that anyone who is offered a place on an Attingham course will be able to attend, regardless of their financial circumstances. Importantly, Attingham has scholarship funding available to help meet the fees of the courses thanks to the generous assistance of private individuals, alumni and charitable foundations.
As an educational charity, we rely heavily on the generosity of our donors. This support is enormously important to Attingham and to the scholars attending our courses. Scholarships provide opportunities for enriching careers and establishing lifelong professional contacts.
‘Without this support I would not have been able to attend. Beyond what I learned about each of these houses, the connections I was able to make will be important throughout my career’.
