Story
For the first time in the charity’s history, the Aston Villa Foundation have sponsored the entry of four runners in the infamous London Marathon, taking place on Sunday, April 26 2026.
The team, comprised of Peter, Kat, Ieuan and Rishi, will take on the 26.2-mile course around the capital, to raise money to support the continued work of the Foundation in the Birmingham community.
The money raised from the marathon will support several Aston Villa Foundation programmes and initiatives, including the PAN-Disability Ability Counts Programme.
Conor Brogan, SEND Coordinator for the Aston Villa Foundation shared: “The Ability Count’s session is a fun and engaging session directly impacting those with PAN-Disabilities, who use the Aston Villa Inner City Academy to train and play in the Birmingham Ability Counts League and the West Midlands Inclusion League.
"The funds raised by the marathon runners are deeply appreciated. These contributions help provide essential kit and equipment for training sessions, enabling our participants to keep playing the sport they love.”
