Batten disease is a group of rare, progressive neurodegenerative, genetic metabolic diseases that occur in children & adults worldwide. The BDFA's Vision is to be the central point of excellence in the UK for supporting affected families funding research into a potential cure.

Story

For the International Batten Disease Awareness Day this year we are turning social media more orange than ever through our #ShowUsYourOrange nominating challenge.

The rules are easy: simply take a selfie with or in something orange, share it on your social media along with the hashtag #ShowUsYourOrange and the link to our Awareness Day JustGiving page, then nominate a friend to do the same!

Please do make a donation if you are able to and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Ongoing funding is crucial for the BDFA as it means we can continue to provide the best possible support to families and grow our services.

Feel free to get creative, how orange can YOU go?

Lets see how far we can spread #ShowUsYourOrange and how much we can raise for Batten Disease Awareness Day 2023.

The BDFA supports families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition which affects children and young people.

Our mission is to enable everyone who is affected by Batten disease to live life to the full and to secure the care and support they need until we find a cure. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively increasing awareness of the disease and funding future research to identify potential therapies and ultimately, a range of cures.
