Everything we offer is completely FREE because we believe every child and young person deserves access to transformative experiences—not just those whose families can afford it.
DKHAP has been serving the community in Champion Hill Ward for over 50 years, we are proud of our legacy and love what we do.

🎵 Free Community Events Throughout the Year
Fete de la Musique III – Our legendary Midsummer celebration returns! In partnership with Friends of Dog Kennel Hill Woods, we'll host live music, open mic sessions, arts and crafts, and a massive BBQ. Imagine local families gathering under the summer sky, children discovering their musical talents, artists sharing their skills with the community.
Painters Playground – Watch our Adventure Playground transform into a living art gallery as talented graffiti artists repaint our walls. Children will witness creativity in action, learning that art belongs to everyone. The result? A vibrant, colourful space that celebrates youth culture and artistic expression.
Bonfire Party – Our annual free celebration featuring open mic, local bands, marshmallow roasting and a huge bonfire. A magical evening bringing our whole community together as winter arrives.
🎨 Every Single Day After School (3pm-6pm)
Your donation keeps our doors open for daily after-school sessions where children can:
Get Creative: T-shirt printing, mosaic making, mural painting, sewing, clay crafting, drawing, doodling and knitting
Get Active: Football, basketball, skating, tennis, and our legendary weekly Table Tennis Tournament
Make Music: Try drums, guitar, or vocals in our music studio. Want to become a producer? Learn on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with our professional equipment
Go on Epic Adventures: Swings, zip towers, shark-infested bogs, zombie-filled deserts—imagination is the only limit!
🌟 Every School Holiday (11am-5pm)
All the above activities PLUS:
Film Making Workshops with professional filmmakers—children learn real skills and contribute to documentaries about DKHAP like the one above.
Music Creation Workshops where kids make their own songs from scratch
Sports Exploration Sessions trying new sports each week
Artist in Residence Programme in which professional artists join our team for an extended period to share their skills on a regular basis building trust and genuine engagement with the children and young people who enter our art room.
❤️The Impact of Your Gift
£200 will go towards our Artist in Residence programme
£150 will support our filmmaking workshops enabling us to purchase equipment and process footage.
£100 will keep us in footballs all summer
£50 will cover the cost of a Friday afternoon BBQ for all our young people
£30 will pay for supplies in drumsticks, knitting needles, table tennis bats and balls and other essential tools
£20 will fill our freezer with a week's supply of ice lollies to be handed out on the next hot day
£10 will go towards any of the above to ensure we can keep enabling fun all year long!
❤️ Why We Need Your Donation
DKHAP is an independent charity governed by a board of local trustees.
We currently receive a grant from Southwark Council that covers about 30% of our running costs. We must reapply for this every two years and success is not guaranteed.
We generate income from hiring out our space and love seeing the local community use the space for parties and private events. We want our neighbours to be able to hire the space so keep the cost to a minimum.
We raise additional funds from trusts and foundations which often come with strict rules and regulations about the how any grant must be spent.
Donations allow us to allocate the money where it needs to be spent.
