Axl was a very special little boy who came into Bradford Teaching Hospitals on a regular basis from the age of just one. He suffered from a rare blood disorder called congenital dyserythropoietic anaemia (CDA) and he underwent two bone marrow transplants during his brave fight.

Playing with distraction toys and games really helped Axl while he was undergoing his treatment. He often used to play games with his big brother Lucas, who visited him.

Sadly Axl lost his battle three days before his third birthday in March 2018 after he contracted an infection. In memory of such a happy boy who enjoyed playing with toys and games, we have launched this campaign to help replace toys and games for the children's areas in hospital throughout the year. This was the family's wish to help remember Axl as he was a playful and happy little boy.

Please help us 'Spread some Sparkle for Axl' by wearing something sparkly, or trimming up your workplace or school with sparkly decorations and donating to Axl's Toy Fund.

Thank you
