Story
The care we provide is at no cost to our patients or their families. However, it does require extensive, on-going fundraising support. We help adults throughout Ayrshire and Arran with life-limiting illness such as cancer, neurological conditions, end stage heart failure and lung disease.
The Ayrshire Hospice is not just a building - it is a way of caring for people. We help people to live as actively as they can to the end of their lives - however long that may be, where ever that may be.Your support makes today matter.
Our vital work is filled with moments that make people smile during a time thats difficult for everyone. Its about making today matter.
We provide care in a number of places including peoples own homes, hospitals and care homes as well as in our purpose built day care and in-patient units. We not only take care of peoples physical needs but look after their emotional, spiritual and social needs too. Family members, close friends and carers are also supported both during a persons illness and in bereavement.
During 2016-17, it cost almost £7.6 million to run all hospice services, including clinical, fundraising and support services equating to almost £21,000 per day. Over £4.3 million was raised through voluntary donations and 80p of every pound donated went directly to providing clinical services, the remaining 20p going towards supporting clinical services.
This level of fundraising support requires on-going commitment, energy and passion from the community support we just couldnt do without.
