Having a Urostomy is a life-changing. The Urostomy Association is the only charity to support anyone with a urinary diversion no matter what the reason for the operation. We provide a safe place for people and their families to discuss their troubles, fears, concerns and find all the information they need to support them during their journey, as well as celebrate and share how to live confidently.
All the services we provide are free of charge so no one faces any barriers to living their life with confidence.
We work with our community to provide the best resources when they need them and, following recent feedback, we are embarking on creating this exciting new resource.
Bags, Bags, Bags is a new children's book to help people talk to their children/grandchildren under 7 in a very natural way to explain what a urostomy is and what it means to be living with one.
Knowing that sometimes people with a urostomy can find it difficult, even embarrassing, talking about this, we want to support them in normalising the conversation around urinary diversions and lifting stigma. We believe that encouraging people to talk about urostomies is a really effective way to make a difference, reaching young children so they grow up feeling comfortable talking about the subject, able to ask questions and aware that people with a urostomy can live life as normal.
This is where we need your help.
