Sadly, thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short. At the moment, they often face this without any care or support. Alone. Afraid. Isolated. Tŷ Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.

Story

This year, Ty Hafan is embarking on an appeal to fundraise for a major refurbishment of our hospice. The aim of this project is to ensure that the hospice is fit for the future by creating a warm welcoming environment for children and families whilst also making the necessary changes to ensure that the highest standard of care is being provided. For this project, we are aiming to raise £1.5 million which will allow us to transform our hospice into a modern environment, all set in a fun beach-hut-themed décor for children and families to enjoy for the next 20 years.

Ty Hafan are delighted to be lead charity partner again at the Barry Island 10K next August and are looking to recruit 100 runners to join our team and help make a short life a full life for children in Wales. Our charity spaces are discounted to just £9.99 when pedging to raise £50.00 in sponsorship. We will also provide you with a free running vest and plenty of fundraising support.

The 10K race takes place on fully closed roads with a challenging yet rewarding route showcasing all of the towns most scenic seaside spots and recognisable landmarks including Whitmore Bay, the Knap, Romilly Park and Watch House Bay
