Story
BAGRC has always been about more than just music—it's about building a movement, embracing self-expression, and refusing to be silenced. Our liberatory curricula and supportive environment allow youth to not only build musical skills but evaluate systemic issues, define their perspectives, and cultivate their agency.
Ranging from ages 8-18, our campers form bands, write original music, perform for friends and family, design logos, and create politically focused art. 65% identify as LGBTQ+, 50% are at or below federal poverty guidelines and attend programs at no cost.
Recent policies under the current administration have made it harder than ever to secure the funding we rely on. This past year, we’ve felt those effects firsthand, as our ability to offer traditional programming was limited — impacting the creative spaces that girls and gender-expansive youth deserve. Yet we remain steadfast in our mission to support and uplift these young people, protecting their creative futures.
We thank you - our donors and Rock Camp families - for supporting us for over a decade despite explicit attempts to defund and silence girls and gender-expansive youth.
This winter, we are asking our amazing donors to band together to help reach our goal of raising $25,000 by December 31, 2025, and we can’t do it without you!
