Story

Bayton primary school has just over 100 students in its rural village school. The children are lucky to have such a lovely green setting.

However their play area is limited, especially during autumn and winter. The school currently has a wooden trim trail. The trim trail is old, and situated in a wet, muddy and slippery area, we are regularly worried about it becoming condemned. The children are not allowed to use it during the wet months. Other than that they have a tarmac playground, and some tyres with non slip surfacing. The tyres are available to the children on an allocated day depending on the year group. As you may know football and playing on the field is also restricted in wet and muddy weather.

The PTA feel that there should be more available to the children and we are sure parents and friends of the school would agree. We are planning on building a climbing frame suitable for all the ages, with some new pieces of trim trail alongside the tyres, and all-weather surfacing. This does unfortunately come at a large cost and so we are looking to exhaust any and all fundraising options to make this happen.

This new play area should really enhance the children's free time, giving them the opportunity for creative play, challenging them physically and giving them more choice. We really hope you will support us in making this happen. Thank you.
