Story
In 2018 the target for the Be Bright Blue campaign was £10,720 with a plan to refurbish patient areas within Beaumond House. This target was exceeded and over £16,000 was raised, enabling the hospice to make further improvements and continue to deliver the best care to local people.
This year the campaign has will be held 8th -15th June and is a way to keep supporters informed of the hospices good work and encourage fundraising in the local community. This years target is £10,528, which is the gap left between funding from the NHS and the cost of running just one room of the in-patient unit for one month.
Many people may have known family or friends that have spent their final days and hours at Beaumond House and the in-patient unit is where people receive such fantastic respite or end of life care. This can be an extremely daunting time for anybody close to the patient, but Beaumond House aim to make the experience as comfortable possible.
Beaumond House is calling for support from the local community to help reach this target.
How to get involved?
If 60 companies sponsor or donate £50 to the campaign the hospice will receive £3,000 towards the target. This can be raised via traditional fundraising such as bake sales or dress down days.
Any individual can also take on this challenge of raising £50.00
There is also plenty of opportunity for back packing during the week at local supermarkets, the hospice is just asking for two hours of your time.
