Story
In July 2026, a group of young people (aged 16 years) and leaders from our group will take part in a 10-day build trip to Mexico, joining other BB members from across the UK and RoI. Working alongside our build partner, Amor Europe, the young people will help construct a home for a family living in poverty.
This isn't just about building a house; it's about providing hope and a new beginning for a family in need.
Each day as part of the build the young people will be hands on building a home from the ground up, under the supervision and instruction of an experienced foreman onsite. During each day they will also meet with the local community including children and young people.
As well as making a lasting difference for the family in a local community in Tijuana, Mexico, this experience will have a profound impact on the young people themselves. Through the trip, they will have a wide range of opportunities, including experiencing new culture and community, developing confidence and independence, and gaining valuable life skills. They will also explore issues such as poverty and social injustice, broadening their understanding of the world and their role within it.
Importantly, this project is not just about the trip itself - it includes months of preparation and planning, with the young people actively involved in fundraising too.
The cost of the trip is over £2,000 per person and so there is a lot of work to do in raising the funds to cover the costs for travel, accommodation, food and of course the build costs.
Thank you for your support in making this life-changing trip possible. Stay up to date with all that we are getting up to at https://www.facebook.com/3rdenfieldbb
