Portable Ultrasound Unit
Cost £40,142.00
The portable ultrasound for the Maternity Unit will provide supportive reassurance care which could potentially improve outcomes in a future pregnancy. These scans will help up to 200 women per year who have a history of recurrent miscarriage, including those unable to travel to the hospital, reducing anxiety and in turn improving patient care and patient experience.
Giving additional support and reassurance is so important throughout pregnancy. The Sonosite ultrasound scanner will help us give that reassurance to women who are worried about miscarriage and also gives us the opportunity to improve outcomes.

Newborn Baby Simulator
Cost £31,318.00
The high fidelity simulator for the Neonatal Unit will offer key simulation training that will provide the entire Neonatal and Maternity team with the technical skills necessary to ensure outstanding care. It will be used to train doctors, neonatal nurses and midwives giving them technical and crisis management skills. This will enable them to provide a high standard of care to 700-800 babies each year who need additional support during their birth and neonatal period.
The simulator will equip our team with the most advanced training to respond to incidents with critically ill and preterm babies. With this training, we will see a decrease in the need for invasive ventilation and better developmental outcomes for babies.
