Story

Black Cultural Archives is the home of Black British history.

We exist to inspire and strengthen indivudals, communites and society by collecting, preserving and sharing the histories of poeple of African and Caribbean descent in the UK.

We opened our landmark HQ at 1, Windrush Square in 2014 after decades of campaigning. Now it's time to make our HQ a real home. From the welcome mat of the courtyard: a space to showcase Black British design and events, to bringing our world class collections out from storage for public display and education.

We have seed funding from London Borough of Lambeth council to start our reimagining. Our architects are up and coming Black British talent Stephane Edwards and Julian McKintosh.

Help us make our HQ a home. #BCAhome
