We’re a specialist housing and support provider helping people who find themselves experiencing homelessness and in vulnerable situations such as relationship breakdowns, addictions, unemployment, surviving domestic abuse, human trafficking, release from prison and deteriorating mental health.

Story

Hundreds of local homeless individuals suffer from severe dental issues, impacting their ability to eat, speak, and regain confidence. Poor dental health not only causes physical pain but also creates barriers to employment and social reintegration. That’s why we are launching Smiles for all, a campaign dedicated to providing essential dental care to those in need across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

The dentist service is currently unable to run in 2025 due to lack of funding so we are running this emergency appeal to aim to restore this vital care.

Your generous contributions will help fund free dental check-ups, emergency treatments, cleanings, fillings, and dentures for homeless individuals who lack access to proper care. By restoring smiles, we restore dignity, health, and opportunities for a better future. The service is provided by Dentaid.

Join us in making a real difference—because everyone deserves a healthy smile!

Hear direct from a local person who accessed these services:

“I’m a bit embarrassed I’ve got 5-6 shattered teeth with just roots remaining, I’ve got one that’s just an outside shell and the rest of it’s root and there’s nothing in there. I can’t eat at points because my mouth gets swollen, I think because of infections coming back over and over again. My tooth has been hurting pretty constantly, and the swelling and sever pain comes around at least once a month, for years. I’ve tried to get a dentist but its just waiting list, waiting list, waiting list, I can’t get in anywhere. And of course I don’t have the money for a private dentist. I think my wisdom tooth at the back is about half on an outside shell, all of the middle bit of root. I’ve been tempted to rip it out but I can’t bring myself to do it. I think its going to have to come out.”

Post-note: Kevin left the dental bus in tears that he’d been able to find help, and was so happy that he’d been relieved of the pain and might be able to eat a Christmas dinner this year.
