BCM was established in 1889 as a Christian response to social problems in inner-city Belfast. Today BCM aims to improve people’s lives in N. Ireland by providing emotional and practical support through a professional social care programme and community projects for a cross-section of society.

Story

Our supported housing for young people provide accommodation for those age 16-22 who have had to leave their family homes for a number of reasons. Residents often arrive with traumas relating to abuse, addiction and poor mental health, and a majority do not have much to call their own. BCM's houses operate via a contracted basis, with little or no allowance for spend on added activities or special treats.

In years past, our homes have been fortunate to obtain funding via the Housing Executive for that little something extra at Christmas. Due to financial constraints, we sadly won't have this funding for 2024, and so we are hitting the road to fundraise for our young people.

This year, we ask you to consider sponsoring our managers as they hit the road in support of our young residents at Christmas time. Robert and Nathan comment...

Making positive memories is so important at their stage of life, and we want to be able to take them on a trip, give them a proper Christmas dinner or simply have a present that was chosen just for them. Christmas in a supported setting can be lonely, and we want to make sure that every young person feels valued.

Please help Robert and Nathan make this happen for 2024, as they set off to walk between our Grampian and Riverside supported houses on Friday 6th December. The 18km walk is likely to take around 5 hours.
