Story

The recent floods in Sylhets have destroyed homes and livelihood of many familes and individuals. It is reported that up to 80% of one of the worlds most populous city has been affected by the flood and vast swathes of area or land submerged.

One of our member was present in Bangladesh when this happened and first hand witnessed the devastation and the areas affected; almost unmissable for everyone in Sylhet. Power supplies were affected as substations were flooded and closed due to risk of fire, phone networks were dropping. Although these things have some how been restored, it is not at full capacity limiting peoples ability to be informed and communicate with loved ones, especially in the villages and rural areas where it is further affected and limited.

We appeal to you to help us raise the much needed funds, to bring some relief and restoration to lives.

- The poor and needy who had some sort of shelter have lost it all

- The hard trade some used to do, the flood has taken their crops and livelihood away

- The deceased have no burial land and eye witness reports tells us that the dead/drown are left afloat.

Locals also mention to us this is the worst floods in decades they have witnessed adding to the suffering and pains of everyone there.
