Help fund the recovery and restoration of our Jaguar cold war jet

2-seat Jaguar XX145 arrived with BDAC at Old Sarum Airfield in August 2023. With nearly 50 years since her first flight and much of the last 17 years outdoors she is going to need a lot of work to get to display condition. Can you help us get there?

The Collection's mission is to tell the story of test flying and aircraft development at Boscombe Down and other airfields in the Wesex area. Based at Old Sarum Airfield, Salisbury in two World War 1 hangars, the Collection provides hands-on experience to visitors who can sit in aircraft cockpits.

Story

First flown in May 1974 and one of just 35 RAF two-seater Jaguars, XX145 served with 226 OCU, 31 squadron, JOCU and the Empire Test Pilot’s School at Boscombe Down, from where she retired in 2006.

Following retirement XX145 moved to RAF Cranwell in 2009, serving with the Aircraft Maintenance Instruction Flight where she was used as a source of spares before going to Bruntingthorpe in 2012 and thence to Cosford in 2020.

We are asking for your donation to help us to cover some of the cost of recovering the aircraft from Cosford and for its’ much-anticipated restoration to display condition.

If you are a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid option to increase your donation at no extra cost to you. Your generosity will help secure the future of this important aircraft.
