Burton Dassett Village Hall

Onwards to Phase 2!

Circumstances have taken over! Instead of the extension we had planned, we must move onto replacing the original asbestos roof as soon as possible and also install an Air Source Heatpump to feed into the underfloor heating before the winter sets in.

Story

HOLD THE FRONT PAGE! - circumstances have changed making us rethink the order of work. We are now concentrating on removing the original, damp asbestos roof tiles and replacing them with a watertight new roof to fit in with surrounding roof finishes. This then allows us to look for funding to add solar panels to start generating our own electricity. The phase now also sees us installing an Air Source Heatpump to feed the new underfloor heating as efficiently as possible. This should help us better manage our energy consumption this winter and keep costs down. All the details below about or kitchen extension is still on the cards, it will just be in the next phase of work.

As a community, we have managed to raise £4000 from different events and donations over the last couple of years. We have very kindly been awarded £10000 by the very local Janet and Bryan Moore Charitable Trust. We have also secured a further £1000 from the Arnold Clark Community Fund. We would like to thank both funders and all of our villagers and visitors for their contributions to our project.

To compliment the fabulous work carried out by Sam White and his team on Phase 1, we are now looking forward to Phase 2. In this phase, we will be removing the old damp kitchen, café, toilets and porch extension and replacing with a new L shaped extension. This will house a bigger kitchen with access directly out into the garden for all those lovely summer days, a larger café room with it's own toilet and a large backstage and storage area also with it's own toilet. In addition to this, we are installing huge panoramic glass doors leading out onto a raised patio overlooking the large back garden.
