Story
We have been operating our weekly Slaithwaite and Golcar Foorshares since 2020. Demand has recently increased and we have sadly lost access to a previously reliable charitable grant (the Household Support Fund), so we are struggling to meet our regular costs.
We support over 50 households a week and spend around £2000 a month on: food shopping, local milk, fresh fruit and vegetables from the Green Valley Grocer, periodic trips to a local Wholesaler, insurance, various other running costs and membership of FareShare (a national charity who provide extremely good value weekly deliveries of high quality food from supermarket surplus).
We need your help.
Having a regular base of financial donations from local people is invaluable to us. Your support will allow us to make our operation more sustainable and less reliant on charitable grants which are increasingly difficult to secure. Especially with the recent loss of the Household Support Fund.
Every penny you donate will count and make a big difference to us and to the hundreds of people who benefit from our services every month.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
