Story
St Mary’s Crypt became the home of Primrose Hill’s first microbrewery in 2016, and it proved to be a wonderful success. Working with master brewers, it created a fantastic array of beers from the darkest of dark Imperial Stouts to crispest of clean lagers and many, many more interesting beers in between. There have been many joyous beer tasting events, street festivals, home deliveries even during ‘lockdown and all profits raised went to support local good causes including helping to fund the Church’s youthwork project and helping the homeless in Camden.
Unfortunately, in July 2022, Camden Council’s Food Inspectorate inspected the Brewery and whilst it awarded the Brewery with a Food Hygiene Rating of 4 out of 5 it did identify a number of structural requirements which have to be complied with by law before brewing can resume. These improvements included the requirement to line the brick walls of the Crypt and install handwashing facilities. Quotes to complete these works are around £5000.00 which we are looking for help to raise.
If you would like to see St Mary’s Brewery return, then any donation would be hugely appreciated. Any donation over £100 we would like to offer you (or whoever you may wish to transfer this offer to) a box of 12 beers in November 2024. We will also give you priority to tickets to the Brewery Launch Party in March / April 2024
