Help us Tackle Bed Poverty for Babies and Children in Thanet

Campaign by Mama to Mama

Over one million children in the UK are living in 'bed poverty' — without a safe place to sleep. In Thanet alone, 1 in 3 children are growing up in poverty. We’re raising funds to provide cots and bedding for vulnerable children in our community

Story

In partnership with BNI Costal (Thanet) Mama to Mama are raising vital funds to support Bed Poverty in Thanet.

There are more than 300 baby banks across the UK, supporting vulnerable pregnant women, families, and children.

Mama to Mama is the only baby bank in Thanet creating bespoke care packages of emergency clothing and equipment for these families to welcome their newborns and support additional children.

Over a 1 million children in the UK live in 'Bed Poverty'. This means they have no bed. Around 700,000 share beds, and 440,000 sleep on the floor. The need for safe sleep for vulnerable babies and small children in our community is soaring. Mama to Mama provides a lifeline, which includes gifts of free Moses baskets, bedside cribs, cots, and essential bedding to families who desperately need them.

The overwhelming demand for their services over the past three months has increased to a staggering 26 care packages delivered monthly compared to the average 15. This has left their shelves dangerously bare.

We need your support to replenish stock and ensure they can continue to say "yes" to every referral, giving every baby a safe and comfortable start in life.
