Story
For more than fifty years, the Tranent Belters have been an integral part of the community in and around Tranent. Our club has consistently brought joy to local residents through a variety of performances, including our much-anticipated Christmas Shows and Summer Shows. In addition, we host special events such as Ladies Days, providing entertainment and fostering a sense of togetherness.
Traditionally, one of our most effective methods of raising funds for community projects has been our annual sponsored walk. This year, we have introduced a new approach by organising a sponsored indoor cycle event. The aim is to collectively cycle 420 miles, which represents the distance between Tranent and Gilfach Goch, a place we have visited regularly throughout our history as a club.
All funds raised from our sponsored cycle will be dedicated to supporting the local community. In recent years, the proceeds from our shows and fundraising events have contributed to a number of important initiatives, including:
• Sourcing and installing no fewer than four defibrillators throughout the town to enhance public safety.
• Providing assistance to the local food bank, helping those in need.
• Sponsoring local sports teams and individuals, encouraging participation and healthy lifestyles.
• Improving quality of life for community members through a variety of supportive measures.
