The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) was founded in Ireland in 1844. It is the largest voluntary charitable organisation in Ireland. Visit www.svp.ie for full details.
In Belvedere College there are 2 Conferences of the St Vincent de Paul Society - the St Aloysius Conference run by the students, and the St Stanislaus Conference run by Past Pupils. Both Conferences are active on a weekly basis supporting people in need in the centre of Dublin city.
This campaign page is specifically in support of the student Conference, St Aloysius. All donations will help finance the weekly soup run where the students go on 4 different routes within Dublin city to support homeless people with refreshments, and most importantly, conversation and friendship. The students are also active in support of elderly people and families across the inner city in whatever ways best support people. This can include providing food hampers at Christmas and during the year, or supporting people with household expenses or special occasions where extra assistance is welcome.
