Rowing and Poplar have been a big part of our lives. We've both rowed since we were kids and now we'd like to put a bit back into the club that's done so much for us.

Poplar is unlike any other rowing club - incredible history, part of the east London community, competitive, and sociable. We think an institution like that is so important to preserve and develop. We want future generations to have the same sports and rowing opportunities we've had.

The club is raising money for a range of things at the moment, including new boats and equipment. But the most pressing issue is the replacement of the clubhouse roof, for which we need to raise £150,000 over the next couple of years.

If we can raise our target of £4,000 for the marathon we'll have reached a good milestone (or 26 milestones to be precise...) towards achieving that goal and guaranteeing the future of Poplar Blackwall and District Rowing Club.
