At Bendrigg Trust we aim to put an end to disabled people sitting on the side-lines during physical activities. We provide opportunities for people of all abilities to take part in adapted activities such as climbing, caving, canoeing and cycling whilst staying in our fully accessible accommodation.

Story

We take to the sands once again in our annual fundraiser across the bay.

This is a historic walk led by the Kings Guide Michael Wilson.

Guides have been providing a safe crossing across the bay since 1548, the 1st Guide was appointed by Henry V111.

The guides receive a salary of £15 per year and a farm, Michael's farm located at Grange over sands & Raymond's farm is located at Canal Foot, Ulverston.

We are expertly guided over various terrain, wet, soggy, boggy and sometimes wobbly sands with the most amazing views. A bucket list walk for many, a family outing or a solo stroll making new friends. The walk can last several hours and the route is determined by the River Kent, walks can cover between 7-12 miles.

We have set up this fundraising page as a communal place for our 2026 walkers should they wish to gain any sponsorship.
