At some time in our lives, we will all lose someone who is really important to us. How we manage our loss is different for every person, but we will all have something in common………grief.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is developing a new bereavement model, one that will improve our bereavement offer to those who have experienced loss. To support this offer, the Patient Experience and Involvement Team are raising funds to provide items at end of life and after loss to help with grief.
Can you help us?
Your donations will allow us to:
• Provide memory boxes, books and diaries.
• Provide mementoes to put in the memory boxes such as hand casts, locks of hair etc.
• Create digital messages/recordings so that the person who may be at end of life, can record a message to their loved ones.
• Arrange marriages in hospital and provide wedding materials when time is limited.
• Help arrange birthday, anniversary and other special events for people and their families when time is limited.
• Purchase supplies for people who do not have family or friends and/or are at risk of dying alone.
• Provide items, including objects of comfort, for people who may be spending a significant period of time at the hospital for example, hospitality trays, flasks etc.
• Establish grief ‘cafés’ and support groups for both adults and children.
• Recruit and train volunteer bereavement companions.
Thank you for your support.
