Story
Approx. 6 out of every 1,000 people in the UK identify as trans or non-binary.*
Beyond Reflections offers a lifeline to trans and non-binary people who are looking for support, a safe space to explore gender identity and the tools with which to embrace their authentic selves.
Currently, Beyond Reflections has well over 200 members in active support and a waiting list which grows by an average of 20 people per week. This support is offered via online TNQ Peer Support Groups, Wellbeing Drop-ins both online and in person, and one-to-one counselling services. We also assist people with housing, education and employment issues, which have a huge impact on mental health and community inclusion.
Trans+ people score highly on every metric used to assess vulnerability; 55% have engaged in self harm, 50% report suicide attempts. 92% struggle with anxiety and 96% say they have experienced mental health challenges.^
Beyond Reflections is essential not only to those members who require support, but as a wider beacon of acceptance and a force for societal change - we believe everyone has the right to live as their authentic selves without fear or derision. We campaign for inclusivity, kindness and community.
Beyond Reflections also provides training to businesses, individuals and community groups, to aid understanding and promote advocacy and acceptance.
Please make a donation today to Beyond Reflections to help us continue this vital work; ensuring all our members receive the best support and working towards the day when everyone can live authentically.
