Story
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Our foodbank is a project founded in 2012 by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.
Since then we have supported 118,912 residents of Blackburn with Darwen with 441,333 meals.
Our goal is simple “a future without the need for foodbanks“. So we want to bring together the experiences of our community to challenge the structural issues that lock people in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
We strive to ensure that every experience with the foodbank is an easy and positive one. If you wish to make a complaint, please follow the procedure below.
