We are a collaborative mental health charity all about giving people the tools they need to look after their mental health and support others. We are all about prevention and early intervention. We are for young people by young people. The Be Free Campaign delivers mental health provisions, counselling and community wellbeing initiatives whilst campaigning for change in our mental health infrastructure

Story

The Power of Early Intervention

Sarah sat quietly at the back of the classroom during our first Integrated Therapeutic Skills Programme session in Liverpool. Like many 16-year-olds, she was struggling with anxiety and feeling isolated. What happened next would change not just her story, but the stories of countless others.

"I never thought I could speak about my mental health. Be Free Campaign showed me that it's not just okay to talk—it's powerful." - Sarah, Programme Participant

A Journey of Transformation

Over the eight-week programme, we witnessed a remarkable transformation. Sarah not only found her voice but became a mental health champion in her school. Through CBT-based techniques and peer support, she developed tools that would serve her well beyond the classroom.

The Ripple Effect

Sarah's story represents just one of the 3,000+ young people we've reached across North West England. Our impact stretches across:

1,197 hours of mental health sessions delivered

100+ teachers trained in mental health support

Countless conversations started about mental wellbeing
