Story
The Big Marathon Month is back!
Complete the marathon distance of 26.2 miles (or more!) over the month of May and get your friends and family to sponsor you along the way.
Whether you run, walk or cycle is entirely up to you complete the challenge wherever and however you want.
If you raise over £100, you'll receive an Emmaus medal to celebrate your fantastic effort. Don't let this limit you though, everything you raise makes a vital difference.
This year, we're setting some new challenges:
Challenge 1 - Classic
Complete 26.2 miles in May however you choose. Run, walk, skip, hop … the choice is yours!
Challenge 2 - The Uprising of Kindness Challenge
If 26.2 miles is a little too easy, complete 70 miles, commemorating 70 years since the Uprising of Kindness that took place in Paris 1954.
Challenge 3 - Cambridge to Paris
Take on this next level challenge of completing 293 miles – the distance between the first Emmaus community in Paris and the first Emmaus community to open in Cambridge. This is perfect for groups who want to complete a challenge between them.
Challenge 4 - The Emmaus Way
This is the ultimate challenge - Complete the distance of 1,600 miles. This covers the approximate distance between all Emmaus communities in the UK - from Glasgow down to Dover. Perfect for cyclists or long distance runners - Take part as a team and accumulate the mileage between you!
For example - 1,600 miles over 31 days is 51.6miles a day. A team of 10 people can cover 5.16 miles per person per day!
